Jerry the Family Man
I have been married to the gorgeous love of my life (LaWanda) since 1996. She is an amazing cook (as is evidenced by my amazing midsection) a talented photographer and one of the most creative people I have ever met. We have two beautiful children. We adopted Rachel from China (while we lived in the States) in 2004 and we adopted Judah from the States (while we lived in China) in 2009. Obviously we don't do things the easy way but we are richly blessed to have a multi-cultural family to share our cross-cultural experience with. What is the Culture Blend? Yeah, that's us.
Jerry the Culture Vulture
I am truly fascinated by all things culture and I love watching when cultures blend. Every day in China is exactly that. A blend of cultures. Family. Business. Life. It's all a wonderfully awkward mix of people who see the exact same world from completely different perspectives. I think the second greatest way to let any person or group of people know that you really respect them is to show a genuine interest by learning about their history, their customs and their passions. I think the greatest way is to learn about yourself but through their eyes. There is a lot to learn either way.
Jerry the Businessman
I am half owner and CEO of micMAC Global Solutions, a company that helps people navigate the challenges of a shrinking world. I started micMAC in 2010 with my business partner J.D. Whitney. We are walking examples of everything we teach. The challenges that we help people overcome are the same challenges that we face on a daily basis. We are discovering that doing business in China is thrilling, wonderful and absolutely maddening all at the same time. We're learning as we go and each lesson is filled with bits of wisdom that we work hard to listen to.
Just for the record: If the real Jerry Jones would like to trade even up, Dallas Cowboys for micMAC I would be interested in talking. However, my real plan would be to then sell the Dallas Cowboys and buy back micMAC. Feel free to leave a message if you're interested real Jerry Jones.
